Located within a 15-minute drive from Pearland, the medical center is a major employer and educator in the Houston area.
In the Houston metropolitan area you will find 11 highly-respected colleges and universities including Baylor University, Rice University and the University of Houston. Close to 175,000 students attend college in the greater Houston market area.
Hobby Airport, serving southern Houston, is located only ten minutes from Pearland Town Center. Southwest Airlines flies an average of ten flights per day, per gate, from Hobby Airport, making up for more than 80% of flights in 2000. Southwest plans to maintain Houston as a focus city and increase flights from Hobby. The Houston Airport System is in the process of a capital improvement program to expand taxiways and reconstruct the concourse portions of the terminal to allow for this expansion.
